| We currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Internal Auditor to step into a 6 months contract, which could then go permanent for the right candidate. Our client is a very large Public Sector organisation based the centre of Glasgow The initial 6 months contract is a great way of trying out the role and the organisation before committing yourself to a full-time permanent job with benefits including final salary pension. The ideal candidate will have Public Sector internal audit experience (recent) and either be IIA/MIIA or CCAB qualified or be fully committed to studying towards such a qualification Duties Include •Assist in scoping planned assignments and prepare a planned programme of approach taking into account background information and any relevant previous experience of the area under review. •Monitor the progress of each audit against the days allocated and suggest proposals for corrective action, where necessary, to be agreed with the Principal Internal Auditor or Chief Internal Auditor. •Conduct audit reviews using appropriate professional and technical skills and retain documentary evidence in structured working paper files of client interviews, systems recorded, controls evaluated and tests carried out. •Undertake the lead role in joint assignments with subordinate staff. •Prepare a draft internal audit report for each assignment undertaken giving a formal opinion on the area reviewed and which also provides a written record of points arising and associated recommendations to improve performance and/or control. •Discuss the contents of the draft reports with the appropriate staff to ensure as far as practicable factual accuracy and the feasibility of recommendations made. •Draft a covering memorandum and finalise the draft internal audit report prior to passing to the Chief Internal Auditor for issue. •Ensure any outstanding management responses to draft internal audit reports are followed up. •Check and issue final internal audit reports and covering memorandum in line with laid down procedures.
