One of Badenoch & Clark's highest regarded clients has requested we recruit them a candidate to cover a permanent recruitment process from early to mid July for a period of at least 8-12 weeks, as a HOMELESS ASSESSMENT OFFICER.

We are looking for experienced Housing professionals with a proven track record and experience of dealing directly with the public and demonstrating a good level of customer care. Candidates must have knowledge of housing legislation, be computer literate and have a valid UK driving licence. As part of a well run team of ten split into Caseload / Assessment and Temporary Accommodation you will be required to monitor and assess the needs of clients presenting themselves as Homeless. Performing the following duties potential applicants must have most, if not all of the relevant experience:

•Carrying out complex homeless assessments, following current legislation,
•Internal liaison with temp accommodation, casework and tenancy support teams,
•Specific knowledge of housing benefits and advice relating to tenancies,
•Liaising with external bodies such as Central Government, charitable bodies and other housing associations in order to ascertain suitability and potential housing.

Due to a systems flaw there is also some statutory online work which involves some repetition but accuracy is vital. You must have experience of working in a Homeless Unit of a local authority to be able to work in this environment, and not in a temp accommodation team. Assessment of those presenting as homeless is the key. Permanent work MAY be offered depending on your success, and working for this organization – widely viewed as one of the best in Scotland, if not the UK as a whole, could be a great addition to anyone's CV.

Although predominantly office based this role will involve some visits and hard work off site and candidate must be willing to travel. If you wish to work with one of Scotland's leading Homeless organisations please apply immediately. You will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Scotland check.
