THE ROLE - CHEF Purpose of Job To organise and control the production of quality food within an allowed budget, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in line with regulations Reponsible to Owner/ Manager Accountabilities To prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals as and when required Main Duties * Prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals * Provide for special dietary requirement where necessary, and take into account the preferences of individual clients if possible * Liaise with the manager on the planning and costing of menus and specials – making the best use of available fresh foods * Maintain accurate records of food supplies, temperatures etc * Ensure stock rotation – order stocks and check deliveries * Staff supervision and delegation as required * Ensure statutory Health and Safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas * Ensure all crockery and equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately, and that the overall cleaning of the kitchen area is carried out effectively |

| Skills: | Person * Relevant qualification in Food Preparation or Cookery * Basic Food/ Hygiene Certificate min * Experience of working as a chef/ cook * Experience of designing a menu * Budget Management * Good Communication skills * Experience of working under pressure and to tight deadlines * Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate at all levels, reporting to management * Good organisational and time management skills |
