O&B Recruitment part of the O'Neill & Brennan Group are currently hiring for a Safety Engineer. This vacancy is in the Environmental Health & Safety department of one of our client sites. This is a permanent role & reports into the EHS Operations Team Leader, the successful candidate will work as an integral member of the EHS Operations team. Specifically this will involve: *Lead site safety initiatives to promote the safety culture on the site with a view to an incident and injury free workplace. *Proactively drive and encourage colleague engagement in health and safety activities. *Lead and participate in Process Teams to effectively contribute to achieving agreed team goals. *Take full responsibility to ensure effective reporting, investigation, tracking and close-out of all site accidents, incidents and near misses. *Prepare Safety Reports / Metrics; identify incident/accident trends and co-ordinate programmes to improve site safety performance. *Identify safety training needs and co-ordinate specific safety programmes in conjunction with customer requirements. *Support Site Cost Initiatives *Ensure site safety systems and procedures are in compliance with our clients Guidelines/Best Practices, regulatory (e.g. HSA) and legal requirements. *Supporting the site Hazop and FMEA programme by contributing to these studies to ensure the highest standards are maintained. Knowledge & Experience Required: *The successful candidate will be educated to degree level in an appropriate science or engineering discipline and/or relevant experience in the Pharmaceutical industry. *In addition candidates will have a proven record of achievement in the areas of leadership, interpersonal and communication abilities, organizational skills and innovative thinking.
