| Job Description and role: A major Financial Services institution urgently requires a qualified accountant with strong analytical skills who is capable of playing an important role in the business. This role will involve supporting the senior management team in maintaining the definition of the target operating model for the department, assessing the impact of externally driven change against it and, where required, facilitating movement towards the target. Main responsibilities: The responsibilities are split across 3 core areas of customer focus, technical knowledge and Change Management. Customers •Manage relationships with the management team to ensure target and roadmap reflect their views, creating a single vision and roadmap from their individual priorities •Manage expectations and perceptions for individual change projects Technical Knowledge •Excellent understanding of the role of the Finance function. •Well rounded knowledge of banking products and of their accounting treatment •Strong knowledge of the principles of operating model design and implementation, including service and role definition, process documentation and transition management Change Management •Develop, maintain and use business and organisational awareness and technical knowledge to influence business strategy and strategic fit that supports change •Ensure appropriate levels of control are applied for individual programmes, including progress updates, management of risks, issues and dependancies. •Use knowledge to create, scope and deliver changes which directly contribute to the strategic objectives Experience Experience of the finance function in a financial services environment. Qualified accountant or qualified by experience Experience of a leadership role in operating model/organisation design Experience of change leadership Strong analytical skills coupled with the ability to present complex problems in a simple way. Good communications & interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
