| Headcount Solutions Require Senior Estimator Location: Flexible (Ireland or UK) Permanent Role Our Client currently requires a Senior Estimator to be Head office based with a limited amount of travel to pre-tender and post tender meetings in Ireland and Great Britain. Details: Responsible for the complete project pricing and tender preparation for turnkey (design, procure, install and commission) construction of new and refurbishment of existing electricity substations and overhead lines. Projects generally are of a high value (£0.1m - £10m) and as a consequence it will usually take 3 to 4 weeks to prepare bid and tender submission. Reporting directly to the company's Commercial Manager. The post holder will work closely with the company's Overhead Lines and Substation Project Managers to agree required project manpower resource and with the Procurement Officer in respect of prices for required materials. Strong understanding of MS Excel with demonstrable practical experience of using MS Excel to price projects. Good communication skills - verbal & written. 2 to 3 years minimum recent experience in an Estimator role. Preferable HV electrical experience, if not HV experience then general electrical estimating experience required. Ability to work as part of a team of six, but also be able to work on their own. Self-starter. Strong understanding of commercial terms and conditions and the impact they would have upon project delivery. Demonstrable experience in negotiation of terms and conditions. Comfortable working to tight tender submission deadlines with minimum supervision, ie, can demonstrate previous experience of working under pressure. Logical and rational thinker. Keen to develop/grow within the Estimator role, taking on additional supervisory/managerial responsibilities and duties.
