JOB DESCRIPTION

·To be responsible for growing the Card Processing income
·To sources new business leads from non existing Banked businesses in your geographical area
·To be recognised as the Card Processing expert in your specialised field.
·To be Card Processing’s principal negotiator for relevant complex new business opportunities in your geographical area.

ENVIRONMENT OF THE JOB

·Providing customers with the ability to accept card payments.
·Against a backdrop of fierce competition, the business seeks to grow its Card Processing business through the design of excellent products, pursuit of outstanding customer service, recognition of value and cross selling products and services appropriate to customer needs to enhance value. This will improve profile and build economic value for the business and its shareholders.
·The range of competitors and products has established a greater financial awareness in customers, creating a demand for increased experience and skill in the Card Processing business.
·The Card Processing business is segmented into the following functions:
·Sales – covering the Telesales, Field Based Sales and Global Banking & Markets Sales Forces, selling UK domestic and International Acquiring services.
·Proposition – Product Management functions for UK domestic and International Acquiring functions.
·Finance – matrix support of a dedicated finance function, co-ordinating financial content of operating plans; business decision support and cost management for Acquiring.
·Matrix management of the Credit, Fraud and Operations teams to ensure effective end-to-end service provision.
Teams are based in London, Leicester and Field sales being home based.

GUIDANCE AND AUTHORITY

·Responsible for pricing appropriate solutions without referral, through the use of pricing models. Where sanction outside the jobholder’s authority is required, this will be referred to line manager up to Product Management level.
·Authorised to exercise, without referral, commercial judgement and market knowledge when providing suitable payment solutions for customers.
·The jobholder is required to provide advice and guidance to prospective clients. This requires knowledge of trading conditions worldwide.
·Responsible for assessing and resolving prospective clients related queries in order to enhance our customers’ experience and the income growth target within the designated area of cover.
·The jobholder assesses and resolves relevant complex issues, ensuring customer service is enhanced, referring other product specialists or more experienced members within the Card Processing Sales team/wider infrastructure when required.
·Assessing any credit risk arising from Card Processing activity, involving submitting a credit application where necessary. The jobholder is required to understand and interpret financial accounts.
·Ambassador of Card Processing.

The jobholder is a key member of the Card Processing team, attending all team meetings both to share best practice and impart knowledge, and to assess performance, taking action to address any shortfall.
