Detailed Description The Client: Our client is a leading multinational provider of financial services. The Role: </P> ; They are currently seeking an Information Security Officer to join their growing team in the IT department in Cavan. Duties & Responsibilities: < ;/P> - Serve as the single point of contact for matters of information security, both internally and externally
- Coordinate the development, implementation and maintenance of information security policies, standards, and guidelines
- Manage security risk by analysing assets, threats, vulnerabilities and exposures, and recommending cost-effective countermeasures to reduce the likelihood and impact of adverse occurrences
- Coordinate information security activities with the various departments and functions
- Monitor security activities and oversee the application of specified security standards e.g. PCI DSS standard
- Enforce standards compliance
- Respond to information security incidents, determining corrective action to be taken, and designing and implementing preventative measures.
- Chair Crisis Management & Business Continuity committee meetings
- Develop crisis management procedures
- Assist all business departments with the preparation of a Business Impact Analysis and Business Continuity Plan
- Work with IT to develop and test full disaster recovery plans for critical systems and applications (Continuity of IT Operations procedures)
- Define various business continuity/recovery strategies for the different locations
Qualifications & Experience Required: </ P> - 2 year's Project Management experience
- 2-3 year's IT Operations or Service Management experience
- Proven track record in driving sustainable improvements or transformation
- Making presentations & business writing - strong technical writing skills but ability to articulate in layman's terms for business readers
- Experience of reporting to management
- Clear and concise verbal & written communicator
- Ability to work at senior and junior levels
Desirable: &n bsp; - Degree in Computer Science or IT-related discipline
- Business Continuity Planning
- Understanding of core tenets of information security
- High-level understanding of risk assessment and ISO27001
- Has achieved security certifications such as CISM, CISSP or CISA
- Understanding of core tenets of information security
- Understanding of concepts behind firewall, IDS/IPS, anti-virus/ malware, content filtering and patch management
