| There are a number of great opportunities for Senior Business Analysts within the Shared Services division of a leading financial institute in Edinburgh . The Shared Services function is responsible for the operation and reporting of the core financial systems of the bank. These Senior Analyst positions sit within specialist divisions of Shared Finance. These roles are pivotal to the divisional income, monthly reporting and documentation and query resolution. Job Description: •Prepare monthly and forecast reports on operations costs and conduct first level review. •Administer systems and processes to support the delivery of monthly MI including Balance sheet reports, providing reports to Decision Support Managers and Stakeholders. •Ensure that reports are produced on time and to a very high standard •Review and challenge of submissions to ensure completeness and accuracy of data. •Resolve complex issues impacting financial accounting and reporting , without the need to refer information upwards. Experience Required •Able to work to tight deadlines •Banking systems knowledge is preferred though not essential •Experience in Financial Services or Financial environment and /or working towards a professional accounting qualification. •Experience in handling financial data, understanding both Operational Banking systems and reporting systems •Good communication skills •Self starter , comfortable in instigating communications and business relationships •Proactive approach to continuously improving tasks and procedures. Technical Skills •Understanding and ability to manipulate and report on financial data. •Part Qualified or QBE •A good level of MS skills including Access & Excel •Aptitude for working with specialist banking applications (training will be given) including Walker, Caustic, INEA, an advantage – not essential.
