Detailed Description The Client: Our client is a leading player in the entertainment industry and based in South Dublin. The Role: </P> ; The company is seeking a Database QA Engineer to help deliver a top quality, reliable experience for customers. - Strong knowledge of SQL is a definite advantage.
- You must have a passion for QA and be a very responsible, detail-oriented person with experience in testing database applications that work with enterprise-class software.
- You must be able to complete tasks on time while working with DBA's, to understand features and to develop suitable tests.
- A keen ability to understand database structure and dataflow, in order to devise insightful test scenarios is important.
- Their database is primarily SQL Server, and their platforms include Microsoft, Macintosh, and Web-based environments, running against client/server architecture.
- They are looking for a QA Engineer who knows what it takes to get software out the door.
Duties & Responsibilities: - Experience with bug-tracking tools/databases is required.
- Produce bug reports that contain detailed instructions on the bug environment, and how to reproduce the problem.
- Perform regression testing, and develop database scripts to perform these tests.
- Able to maintain grace under pressure in a fast-paced, high-calibre product development environment.
- Applicants must have good experience of testing Database applications and have the ability to understand large, complex systems.
- Position requires a track record of shipping software products, and experience with the complete software development lifecycle.
- Any other tools of the trade are a bonus, including scripting and automated test development skills.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required: - 4 year's minimum industry experience
- BS or BA preferred, or equivalent work experience
- Experience with Data Quality and dataflow
- Good SQL knowledge with a strong relational database background
- Experience writing and executing detailed Test Plans
- Worked in a very large database environment
- Data warehouse experience, a plus
- Experience with test management tools (such as Mercury Quality Centre) is required
- Detail-oriented, highly motivated individual
- Ability to multi-task and test different applications necessary for a release
