| SENIOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER joint venture company undertakING an Integrated Services Contract. The Contract commenced on 20.04.02 for a period of 7 years, with options to upturn this contract for periods of 12 months. The aim is to provide a wholly integrated service to the North and Central North Sea assets. Based onshore / Occasional offshore trips will be required. Working Hours 9 hours per day Duration Ongoing Main Purpose of Job: • Execute Structural discipline engineering activities within budget and schedule, while maintaining technical integrity, act as discipline focal point as required Reports: • Lead engineer and asset project personnel Key Responsibilities: • Effective maintenance of Performance through HS&E and STOP program • Achieve safety standards as defined in personal performance contract • Responsible for assessing effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systems, personal and team performance • Carry out work in accordance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems • Execute engineering activities (Concept, FEED, Technical Study & Detailed Design) • Act as discipline focal point as required • Maintain the required technical quality of work • Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with Change Control Process • Maintain planning and cost control on all scopes • Ensure that designs comply with the relevant procedures and regulations • Provide technical assistance to discipline assigned staff as required • Ensure, as far as practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule • Keep up-to-date with technical developments, national and international standards and legislative requirements related to the discipline scope • Review and check work output of discipline assigned staff as required • Prepare estimates and schedules and assist in their review • Maintain good communication with the Client and visit Assets when necessary • Carry out site surveys • Assist the Lead Engineer and others when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and duties • Assist in training and mentoring of graduates as required • Maintain filing system • Encourage and provide lateral learning within the Project Main Interfaces: • Project Engineers • Lead Engineer • Construction • Discipline personnel Competencies: • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (preferred) or minimum HNC qualification • Extensive engineering experience and oil and gas related experience preferred • Able to work as part of a team • Preferred chartered engineer status • Good communication and interpersonal skills • Conform to the agreed values and behaviours |
