Manager , Group Credit Risk

Key Responsibilities:

  • Co-coordinating the implementation of the bank's strategic and tactical response to Credit Policy issues within Basel 2 so that the maximum benefit is extracted
  • Manage the approval process on behalf of Group Credit Risk for any proposed changes and developments to Divisional credit grading systems.
  • Assessing and making recommendations on all Divisional credit policies / best practices and elevating those that are considered material for ratification by the Group CCO and Group CRO.
  • Support and advise the Divisions as they implement new credit policies and standards, Identifying best credit related internal and external practices and facilitating their transfer / adoption.
  • Annual review of Group Large Exposure Policy and Divisional Credit Authority as well as the Credit Applications Format and Guidelines.
  • Assess all new product proposals that are considered to have material groupwide credit implications from a strategic / policy perspective
  • On an ongoing basis identify policies that require improvement / clarification
  • Assistance, on ad hoc basis, to Group Credit projects and initiatives e.g. CEBS, due diligences, ongoing Basel II initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Good understanding of core groupwide credit policies and principles for identifying, measuring, approving and reporting of credit risk.
  • High calibre credit experience, professionalism and credibility to be capable of giving support and advice to divisions that will result in progressive action
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with and influence senior management and to network effectively with key members of credit, risk and line management of the Group and to develop strong business relationships.
