Due to this expansion we now seek individuals for the role of Area Manager.

Key Responsibilities: Working with a high level of Autonomy in a demanding and busy business, after a training period of 6-8 months you will:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of between 3 and 5 retail outlets with annual turnover exceeding 40 million euro.
  • Weekly maintenance and audit of individual store accounts and goods in invoices to ensure accuracy and reliability of deliveries from Regional Distribution Centre. 
  • Setting and agreeing targets with my management team so as to achieve maximum sales while ensuring that you do so incurring the lowest possible costs.
  • Ensuring that all legal requirements are fulfilled such as Health & Safety, HACCP and Liquor Licensing etc.
  • Performing weekly cash audits in all stores and ensuring that all company cash procedures are being followed.
  • Minimizing inventory loss in stores by carrying out regular stock takes to determine where losses are occurring and then implementing and developing procedures to reduce such inventory loss.
  • Ensuring that all company operational standards are maintained at all times including freshness, stock rotation, pricing, merchandising, accurate ordering and customer service.
  • Agreeing productivity targets for stores and ensuring they are achieved by liaising with Operation Manager, Warehouse Manager and Transport manager to ensure efficient and timely delivery of stock to stores.
  • Responsible for the staffing levels in each store to ensure that necessary staff are in place to maintain operating standards while at the same time monitoring turnover and customer numbers to ensure that productivity targets are achieved.
  • Directly responsible for correct and accurate reporting of employee hours on to company payrolls and meeting payroll deadlines at the end of each month to ensure payment of all staff.
  • Responsible for all HR issues within stores including holiday planning and recording, promotion and disciplinary action, sickness entitlements, payroll, training and recruitment.
  • Advising the property manager regarding issues relating to the site and building and making decisions to prioritise the urgency of such issues so as to minimize costs involved in callouts.
  • Act as primary liaison between stores and Regional Distribution Centre and to highlight and assist in resolving any issues at monthly meeting with the Regional Director.
  • Ensure accurate monitoring and reporting of daily and weekly turnover, productivity figures, writes offs, cash and lodgement differences to Regional Head Office.
  • Additional duties may be assigned in line with the requirements of the business

Skills & Experience: You will have completed a third level Degree or masters. You will be highly motivated and ambitious. Although retail experience is a prerequisite for the job, however, not senior experience as full training is provided. A minimum of 3 years commercial experience is required. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to achieve high quality results within tight deadlines.

Please note that relocation may be required.
