Our Client is the global leader in device software optimisation (DSO). They enable companies to develop and run software faster, better, at a lower cost and more reliably. Their Platforms tightly integrate a rich set of market leading systems, development tools and middleware with services to provide a complete foundation that meet the specific requirements of a vertical market.

This role is based in the UK, working from their Maidenhead or Solihull offices.

Role Description

The ideal candidate will be a technical-sales professional who can demonstrate a proven track record within the Embedded/Real Time markets and in selling the software and services proposition.

The role demands the ability to effectively understand and present solutions and services at all levels within defined named accounts and to have the business knowledge, drive and skill to develop the consumer segment within the UK.

We are particularly looking for candidates to be comfortable developing and articulating a value-proposition which encourages beneficial process change and standardisation on a common technology within an enterprise.

It is essential that the Account Manager be able to work at all levels with a particular emphasis on driving growth, building pipeline and establishing, nurturing and sustaining strategic relationships and positioning within the named accounts. The Account Manager should be experienced in working with partners and using contacts and relationships to strengthen the position of Our Client within the designated vertical market (to be specified)

The candidate should be a team player and have the ability to involve and work with the field engineering team, business support staff and executive management.

The candidate must show evidence of repeated over-achievement , driving tactical and strategic plans as well as exceeding revenue and strategic goals in assigned named accounts. The balance between quarterly and long term revenue goals and objectives must be well understood and acknowledged.

The candidate must show capability to develop an account strategy and business plan, including using formal computer based tools to undertake account planning, sales forecasting and target opportunity analysis. In addition, execution and “on time” delivery of commitments are key skills which must be evident.

The Account Manager, may act as local resource calling upon global or worldwide strategic accounts and is responsible for co-ordinating and communicating with colleagues in order to maximise business opportunity within named accounts and military/aerospace market segment within the UK.

Maintaining high level of customer satisfaction and happy, positive relationships is vital and should be demonstrated through good customer references.


Qualifications and skills

Minimum of 3-5 years working within the Embedded/Real Time/Hi-Tec arena

Minimum of 3 –5 years demonstrable successful sales experience preferably in the hi-tec market

Be able to show ongoing successful track record in respect of performance against plan (examples of successful career achievements required)

Excellent presentation skills and public speaking ability

Ability and motivation to learn

Proven experience of major account development and target account selling

Proven experience of working within the team environment

Knowledge of Linux user within the consumer market would be useful.

Ideally degree level educated




Additional Skills/Qualifications

•        Degree or equivalent
•        Previous sales experience of software development tools or similar would be useful.
•        Experience of Aerospace, Defence, Consumer Electronics, Automotive or telecom equipment industries would be useful.
