| O&B Recruitment part of the O'Neill & Brennan Group are currently recruiting for a Release Management Engineer for our client based in Shannon. As a member of the Release Management Group the successful candidate will participate in the provision of Product Support for the Charging Business Unit product line. The successful candidate will join a group with the responsibility for release management and issue resolution management for Prepaid, Charging Gateway and Intelligent Peripheral products. The successful candidate will work with Product Architecture, Product development, Product Management and Competence Centre Charging (CCC) functions in a highly skilled, pro-active and innovative working environment. This role involves the following: · Providing support for new product release programs including planning, documentation, upgrade test and implementation · Providing support for new release pilot installations and upgrades · Providing support for integration of third party products with our client's products/releases · Developing methods, procedures, tools which improve product quality and customer satisfaction levels · Providing support for system dimensioning, maintenance and audit planning programs · Problem report investigation, analysis and resolution management Organisation The Charging Business Unit (CBU) consists of 3 divisions reporting to the CBU Vice President. These are Sales, Product Line & Services. The CBU Product Line is made up of the following four departments: · Product Architecture · Product Development, · Test & Release Management, · Project & Program Management. The Release Management Group is part of the Test and Release Management department of the Charging Business unit. The Release Management Group provides support for the installation and upgrade of the Intelligent Network (IN) products. Skills and Qualifications The successful candidate will have a third level qualification in Electronic Engineering or Computer science. Candidates with a significant amount of suitable and relevant Telecommunications industry experience will also be considered. Particular assets for this role include: · Experience in Telecommunications Product Support role · Experience of Intelligent Networks and Services · Experience of CAMEL and INAP application protocols · Working knowledge of SS7 protocol stack · Working knowledge of GSM and TDMA networks · Working knowledge of UNIX · Good communications & documentation skills In addition the following skills would be advantageous: · Experience working on customer (Telecommunications Operator) sites · Knowledge of SUN "Cluster" architecture and hardware · Experience in installation, configuration and support of relational databases (Sybase) · Knowledge of Shell scripting or PERL The person may from time to time also be asked to support and back up the Release Control Function within Release Management. A high level of self motivation, initiative and good communication skills are required. This position is based in Shannon and reporting to the Release Manager. A willingness to undertake foreign travel is essential as this is a mandatory part of this role.
