Our client, is urgently looking for a Housing Assistant to come in and add immediate value to it's front line Housing Service. Due to a heavy workload two staff are being moved internally, creating two backfill posts at Assistant Level for the next three to six months.

The company itself has a more-than-solid reputation and you could enjoy some flexitime to assist in travelling to and from both Edinburgh's West End and Glasgow, if you do not live locally. Based on an annual salary of £15 - 18000 approx (depending on experience) candidates must have a minimum of 12 months experience as a Housing Assistant, or over 24 months experience in property.

The role will involve the following:
•Working on the Allocations policy and procedures of the Association, including overseeing the administration of applications for housing.
•Providing appropriate advice and assistance to customers of the Association, including applicants for housing, tenants and sharing owners.
•Working in rent arrears policy and procedures, helping take cases to legal action stage where required.
•Helping to Minimise void periods for properties where there is a change of tenancy or at handover of a new development.
•Working with housing officers on the decanting process where properties are being repaired or remodelled.
•Tenancy and estate management within a specified area, including dealing with anti-social behaviour.
•Tenant participation activities in conjunction with the Tenant Participation Officer.
•Manage contracts for gardening and cleaning of common areas in the developments within own geographical area of responsibility.
•Participate in internal working groups such as new development project teams, inter-departmental review groups, policy and procedure reviews, etc.

The office you will be based in is in Edinburgh but now and again you may need to work in Glasgow city centre, for which you will be compensated for. An immediate start is possible, in order to continue to the good work of the current members of staff; if you have the wherewithal, skill set, talent and ability to add value, and not just ‘make up the numbers,' this role is for you! Please contact Arnie or anyone on the housing team on 0131-2253130 if you have the relevant experience. If you are sure you are the candidate for the job and clearly have the experience – please email us your CV immediately.
