Section Engineer
Location: Essex
Start: ASAP
Project: Major UK infrastructure project

We are currently recruiting for a Section Engineer to support a major infrastructure project in Essex.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of works, while providing leadership and technical guidance to Site Engineers and Apprentices.

Key Responsibilities

* Plan and manage 3-week lookahead programmes and report progress

* Produce WPPs, safety tours and project documentation

* Review designs and resolve technical queries

* Provide technical coaching and guidance to Site Engineers

* Manage QA, including ITPs, audits, NCRs and material approvals

* Ensure environmental, sustainability and carbon compliance

* Manage resources, plant and materials, supporting procurement and cost control

* Produce redlines, certificates, O&M and H&S files

* Promote health, safety and wellbeing and lead Site Engineers and Apprentices

* Drive lean efficiency and consider stakeholder and community requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

* Proven experience in a similar Section Engineer / Senior Engineer / Production Engineer role

* Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects, ideally highways or major civil engineering schemes

* Strong technical and engineering knowledge

* Experience with setting out, quality assurance, ITPs and construction documentation

* Strong leadership and communication skills

* Good understanding of construction regulations, standards and best practice

* Ability to manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines

* A proactive approach to safety, quality and programme delivery

Qualifications

* Engineering or Construction Management qualification

* Relevant site-based engineering experience

* Appropriate CSCS/engineering competencies
