One of the finest luxury country hotels in Sussex is currently seeking a Head Pastry Chef, offering a magnificient combination of elegance, style, award wining dining & outstanding business & leisure facilities.

Duties and responsibilities:

To make sure the Pastry team are giving an efficient, smooth and quick service while maintaining principles and standards set by the Executive Chef.
To constantly check quality and quantity of food going out of the Pastry and outlets serving on your behalf.
To promote good working relations between other kitchen sections and with all other departments. To be friendly and courteous to staff, management and guests.

To help train and motivate the kitchen brigade and have a happy, well disciplined team

To ensure that each section is manned efficiently and that the Chefs de Partie and Commis Chefs are working at their best ability.

To ensure correct methods are used for preparation of food and to check presentation.

To order and purchase for the hotel food requirements in an economical manner when required

To control all food storage activities to make sure that all food is kept in prime condition and a good method of stock rotation is being used in Pastry and all other areas of the kitchen.
To compile menus, rotas and attend meetings guided by the Executive Chef.

Key skills required:

The appointed person will be confident in their abilities to control all food storage activities to make sure that all food is kept in prime condition and a good method of stock rotation is being used in Pastry and all other areas of the kitchen, providing a wide choice of first class elegant food.

Previous experience in a simialr role is essential as well as the ability to maintain high standards in their work in line with the business needs and expectations

Salary: £30000 – £32000/annum
