Nurse Seekers are excited to be working for a long-standing independently owned hospital in Banbury. The hospital has been successfully established for nearly 40 years and has provided treatments and services for the area to thousands of people.
Our client is looking for an experienced Lead Endoscopy Practitioner to support the Director of Theatre & Endoscopy in the effective management of the endoscopy department.
To support in the management of the endoscopy service, ensuring that the highest quality of patient centred care is delivered through effective organisation, maintenance of professional/clinical standards and collaborative working.
To plan and provide quality care across the whole endoscopy patient pathway.
To provide a safe environment and act on any discrepancies or issues that may affect patient safety.
To ensure appropriate staff, patient ratio and clinical skill mix are maintained.
To provide specialist advise and support as required.
To ensure equipment and recourses are available for upcoming endoscopy sessions.
To participate in the care and decontamination of endoscopes via the SLA with the OUH. Including accurate records of traceability of the endoscopes and accessories.
To maximise utilisation of endoscopy time whenever possible.
To liaise with the bookings team and consultant’s secretaries to ensure patients are booked for the correct procedures.
Desire Skills and Qualifications
Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration.
Basic and advanced Competence / qualification in Endoscopy Care and Decontamination
Operators Course in Endoscopy Decontamination
Knowledge of appropriate standards and external bodies (Care Quality Commission, GRS, JAG, HTM 01 -06)
At least 1 year’s previous experience as registered practitioner or equivalent in endoscopy service
Experience of leading a clinical team is desirable
Safeguarding (Adults) Level 3
Practical knowledge of safeguarding within a healthcare setting
Experience of recruitment, appraisals and disciplinary procedures is desirable
Ability to demonstrate high standards of verbal and written communication
Ability to present information clearly and concisely
Tact and diplomacy
Ability to work flexibly and respond to urgent matters
Ability to follow instructions and work to tight time constraints
Reliability and dependability
Adaptability to change and willingness to embrace new ideas and processes
Time management & organisational skills
