Machine Tool Setter (Plastics)
£12 to £15 per hour + Shift allowances. Rate including shift premium ranges between £13.80 to £18.75
2 shift system in operation, weekly rotation of earlies and lates . Shift premiums at 15% earlies, 25% lates.
Machine Tool Setter required within a specialist manufacturer offering leading bespoke solutions to the UK engineering and production industries.
This role will be open to experienced tool setters from transferable manufacturing backgrounds, plastics industry experience is highly desirable although all relevant backgrounds will be considered.
The role of tool setter will be based around certain key objectives including, keeping machine run time per shift to a target of 90%, work towards targeted levels of scrap minimisation on each shift rotation, working towards targeted numbers of tool changes per shift and maintaining high standards in terms of appearance of machines and surrounding working areas. You will be targeted on completion of all jobs prior to shift end and appraised against performance on productivity. You will have continuous support from the process engineers on shift and from supervisory and managerial staff around all operational and machine based issues or faults. As a continuous improvements’ based culture suggestions and initiatives to improve processes and reduce waste are always welcomed and rewarded where successful. The Person Required:
* Experienced tool setter from a manufacturing background (plastics ideal but not essential)
* Used to working to high quality and health and safety standards is a must, experience working within and assisting towards continuous improvements initiatives advantageous.
* Willing to work within a targeted productivity based culture on a 3 shift rotation basis.
Salary: £14.92 – £18.65/hour
