Due to our continued success and plans for expansion in 2022, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join an award winning and growing financial services company specialising in the mortgage sector to work as a Mortgage Completions Underwriter within the wider Operations Team, focusing on the Mortgage completions side of the business. You will be working alongside a team of underwriters and report directly into one of our Underwriting Completions Team Leaders. The job role in summary will be to offer professional and accurate support for the administration of our Buy to Let mortgage applications after the mortgage offer has been issued, facilitating a swift and smooth completion of the loan for our customers by providing a professional, efficient and high standard of customer service and administrative support to customers, intermediaries, valuers and solicitors.
The role would suit candidates who have proven work experience within the mortgage sector within disciplines such as underwriting, mortgage services, arrears or completions who cna demonstrate a good technical knowledge of mortgage products and an understanding of lending criteria. We are currently implementing our part office/part work from home scheme but you must be happy to commute to our Fleet office regularly.
The role will involve:
Work to agreed objectives, service standards and deliverables.
Ensure relevant documentation and information received is checked for adherence to policy and criteria.
Deal with queries and enquiries effectively, accurately, and professionally, delivering excellent customer service.
Provide a prompt reply to all written correspondence.
Develop positive working relationships with colleagues.
Make suggestions for improvements to processes to enhance service and efficiency.
Adhere to internal/external compliance, credit review and audit requirements.
Apply all aspects of the desired consumer outcomes of Treating the Customer Fairly (TCF).
Use initiative to resolve queries outside own area of expertise.
Train and mentor new team members.
Take responsibility for your own learning and development.
All other associated duties and responsibilities and carry out any tasks as required by management.
To be successful for this position you will ideally have proven experience of working within the buy to let mortgage industry and be seeking the next step in your career or the opportunity to move to a well established and respected employer in the mortgage sector. You will need proven mortgage servicing, underwriting or completions experience and although a CeMAP qualification is preferred, it is not essential as we can offer study support if desired.
Successful candidates will be PC literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
