Social Care

We are looking to recruit passionate Relief Support Workers to join our dedicated team of support staff in the Launceston Area.

Do you want to make a positive difference to people’s lives?  We are recruiting for our service in Launceston where four people share a home, male and female. They all have different needs and are aged over 50. Some need support with personal care and they all need support with medication, cooking, shopping and housework/laundry. They all enjoy accessing the community and going for coffee. One gentleman enjoys trains and eating out while others enjoy swimming and bowling. There is a gentleman who has Autism and can sometimes present with challenging behaviours, he loves Dr Who and Star Wars and enjoys a Costa Coffee. Routine is important to him.

It is a busy home with lots to do but the rewards are worth it when you see the smile on the faces on those you have helped make a difference in their day.

As a Relief Support Worker, flexibility is key for both yourself and for the service, as you may be required to work a variety of different shifts.  You will have the ability to work flexibly across the weekdays, weekends and bank holidays depending on your availability and the hours being offered to you.  Shifts vary including mornings, afternoons, evenings, sleep ins and waking nights.  Flexibility is therefore essential for us to be able to meet the needs of the people we support.

The role of a Relief Support Worker can be challenging at times, so it is essential to have a positive mind-set with a desire to improve the lives of those with a learning disability.  You will need to be quick thinking with a positive can-do attitude.
